The Situation

Marcelo Lara got laid off from his job during the pandemic and needed to secure income, so he decided to give real estate investment a try. He opened his business Paradise Investments in Miami, FL in February of 2021.

At first he tried cold calling, cold texting, craigslist, and direct mail. All of these methods were successful but he got tired of making outbound calls and wanted to invest more in direct mail, so he reached out to PostcardMania.

The Solution

PostcardMania designed a 4.25 x 6 inch postcard that included the following features:

  • A QR code that when scanned goes to their website for more information
  • A handwritten font that personalizes the message
  • The first name and address of the recipient to grab their attention
  • An offer of a cash offer within 24 hours

Paradise Investments mailed 15,000 postcards to their own list of contacts. Every mailing included 5,000 cards. On average, he would receive 10 calls per mailing, so he got 230 responses total.

The Results

They generated $103,891 in revenue!

Out of the responses Marcelo received, he converted 23 of them, which brought in $103,891 in revenue.

Since starting direct mail, he has generated $796,490 in revenue for his business and he has been able to use some of that to pay for more marketing. Since this campaign, he has ordered over 70,000 more postcards with PostcardMania.

He would say to another business owner who is thinking of trying direct mail, “Take a leap of faith and continue to send the postcards month after month!”
